Alison Taylor Biography

Training at Loughborough University

I gained a degree in 3D Design: Ceramics. 

I have since trained as a Secondary School

teacher in Art and Photography.

 

The natural environment produces many

varied and interesting forms providing

inspiration in creating a sense of nature in my 

ceramic work. I am increasingly interested in the 

natural landscapes and the contrasts with more 

manufactured, harsh settings.

 

I use my photography, sketching and painting to explore my inspiration

2 dimensionally before developing it with clay bodies and surface design.

 

I have been experimenting with a range of wheel throwing processes and clay bodies to create different effects. Recently I have been exploring slab building, decorating the vessels aswell as firing techniques.
